Jump To Lightspeed was supposed to be an expansion, but development has been so slow it's been a special. I'm on my second to last character. I'm only just beginning to understand the possibilities of what it's trying to be. Jump To Lightspeed is to Star IVors what the original Star Wars Galaxies was to Galaxies 2.0.
I'm watching my character battle with a human female. This is the kind of battle you expect to see in an MMO. The visual style is similar, but not identical to the original Star Wars Galaxies. There's an effort made towards realism, but there's also an odd sense of stylised sharpness and cartoon warmth. It's not so much an issue of art style, more the sense that the game is trying to be multiple things at once. Much like the original Galaxies, but with added Star IVors-ness and the Jumpspace-like ability to travel the universe.
I can't put a date on my time in Star IVors. Three years of existence now feel like three months. I'll never forget that moment when I first logged in, or the sense of wonder, or the unforgettably unique sense of adventure. But the game's lost its lustre. I'm not the person I was when I first booted up. And no, I haven't found an alt-character and logged onto that.
There are two modes of gameplay in Star IVors: adventure and PvP. I've started exploring the adventure zone. You can find a timeline of events in game, which makes sense in the context of the knowledge of the developers. There's huge amounts of content. And it's all a bit convoluted. Trying to find the right place to explore and fight is tricky. I've been running around trying to find an open planet and fighting some human nerds. I prefer the adventure zone to PvP, which is where I'm playing at the moment. My character has a hyper-specialised ability that attacks enemies with laser beams. I'm finding it hard to figure out where to use it. I'm struggling to understand which enemies need to be targeted.
I've been playing since '97, and though I've played through the games via fandom.com , KIYH and TFU , it's been too long since I reached the endgame, which is what I'm after now. Star Wars Galaxies is appealing in that way. It's a game made for people who love Star Wars, people who want to invest their time and money in a virtual world they can call their own. I'm still playing it, because the world isn't done with me yet, but it's time to move on to the next phase. I can't wait to see what's out there when I get there. It's like a new world, and I'm looking forward to making new friends and exploring new lands in a galaxy far, far away.
Time for some slick, Jedi-like flying. The first time I played the game I turned up the speed to max and followed the controls like a sorcerer (there's a reason for that Star Wars reference). I always turn up the speed when I first start the game, and it's a mistake.
I am running a PC with Windows 7 and Adobe Photoshop CS6. I am wondering how to end the trial period and convert to a full copy of Photoshop CS6. I tried closing down Photoshop, which produced a message telling me to return the disk. I did that, but the same message returned. How can I end this? 827ec27edc
